Anthropic buys Stainless for SDK + MCP tooling, Vercel ships interactive MCP apps, GitHub brings Copilot CLI agents into JetBrains, and OpenAI tightens macOS supply-chain safeguards.

1) Anthropic acquires Stainless to push SDK + MCP server tooling forward
Anthropic announced it is acquiring Stainless, a company that generates SDKs, CLIs, and MCP servers from API specs. The subtext: connectivity is the product. The “agent runtime” conversation keeps moving upward, but the enabling layer is increasingly boring and operational — typed SDKs, stable connectors, and predictable integration ergonomics.
2) “MCP apps” turn tool output into interactive UI (not just text)
Vercel’s changelog highlighted that the Nuxt MCP Toolkit now supports MCP apps: tools can return interactive HTML UIs that MCP clients like Claude and ChatGPT render inline. This is a meaningful step toward tooling that can ask for missing inputs, preview diffs, and drive follow-up actions without forcing everything through a plain-text response.
3) GitHub brings Copilot CLI agents into JetBrains (with isolation + session tracking)
GitHub shipped a Copilot update for JetBrains IDEs that can delegate tasks to a locally running Copilot CLI agent (public preview). It also adds a unified sessions view with live status, and an “Ask question” tool in agent mode to reduce ambiguity mid-run. Notably, the CLI agent supports worktree isolation (review/apply later) and workspace isolation (apply directly).
4) OpenAI’s TanStack supply-chain response: update macOS OpenAI apps by June 12, 2026
OpenAI published a response to the TanStack npm supply chain attack and set a firm macOS deadline: update OpenAI apps by June 12, 2026 as certificates are rotated and older signed builds may stop working. The post is also a reminder that “agent tools” are now part of your supply chain: npm packages, CLIs, plugins, and auto-updaters are a first-class attack surface.

- Default to isolated worktrees/sandboxes for long runs; promote to “apply in workspace” only when needed.
- Make every run end with: updated files list, tests executed, and rollback hints.
- Bake in a “clarify first” behavior (Ask question) to prevent long, wrong runs.
